What: This self evaluation is designed to help you evaluate your personal level of expertise in the most common project tasks in which you will be involved. The evaluation queries you about the typical business analysis techniques that are used in these tasks.
Why: Most of these tasks and techniques are referenced in the International Institute for Business Analysis® (IIBA® ) Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®) version 2 and are tested in the IIBA® certification exam to become a Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®).
What you get: When you finish the evaluation, you will be presented with a graph of your skill levels in six Knowledge Areas (KAs). These are KAs identified by the IIBA® as critical for Business Systems Analysts. You will also receive recommended training offers to help you expand your skills and prepare for the CBAP® exam, should you choose to do so. It will help you visualize the difference between where you think you are versus where you need to be before you take the CBAP® exam*.
If you are taking this survey as a member of a group in a company, your responses will be used with your fellow BA's to “tailor” the training that you will be involved in over the next few years.
Lastly, you can then look at recommendations for typical training seminars and books for self-improvement in each of the core competencies where you need improvement.
*To pass the CBAP® exam, you must score 80% or better in 4 of the six knowledge areas. |
